Geelong Contemporary Portrait Photographer - Tania Fernandes
Exist in photos. Something I say all the time and ask of my clients. As a photographer, I’m always more comfortable behind the lens than in front of it. As a woman, the idea of taking soooo many photos of myself is confronting, and not something I’m all that comfortable with. BUT it’s important. It’s important for my children to own portraits of me, just me, as a woman as a person, for Motherhood is only one of my names. And most of all it’s important for me, to accept myself as I am and be thankful for my body and all it’s created and achieved. I’m so good at documenting my children’s lives, but I’ve never stopped to think that I too change week by week, year by year. So I decided this year to document my own journey and challenge myself to create weekly self portraits.
Here they are. This is me.
