Meet Mandy!
Mandy Dollery
Mandy started her business during her Graphic Design course at The Gordon a few years ago (when she won Student of the Year!). Her intention was to be a full-time Graphic Designer, however, she decided that she enjoyed working as a Freelancer more and cover 3 different creative categories: Graphic Design, Illustration and Murals.
When I asked Mandy about the services she offers and what she loves the most about her business she said, “My strengths are communication, I’m able to understand exactly what my client wants and needs, and this is one of the reasons why I love working for myself. I am there for them from the start to the end, until we achieve their goals. This could be from rebranding and logo design to custom artwork and massive murals.
I’m a bit of a free spirit and love the outdoors, so my favourite work this year has been the many murals that I have had the opportunity to do, from cafes to WorkSafe and even a project with underprivileged school kids (Colour Me Rad). The latest mural has just been completed at 8 Gheringhap Apartments, and photos will be uploaded on my website soon. AND… there’s 3 more murals coming soon after Christmas! Pet Portraits have been popular this year for me, and I absolutely love doing them. All I need is a couple of clear photos to work from. I paint them with AS gouache paint on high-quality watercolour A3 paper. And of course, we can frame them for you too!”
When Mandy is not out and about painting murals, or sitting at her desk on her laptop, you’ll find her in her new studio at Artisans of Australia, painting her heart out for an upcoming exhibition or creating a custom order. Preparing for markets (with her limited edition prints of quirky animal characters, alphabet flashcards and posters) can get quite hectic! She also does all of their own archival printing and beautiful timber framing in their studio, and offer this service to the public too.
